On a crisp February night nestled in the picturesque Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg transformed into a pulsating hub of energy and rhythm. Fans gathered to witness the dynamic fusion of funk and psychedelic jams as Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, the Maryland quartet known for their infectious grooves, kicked off their much-anticipated "Day In Time" Winter Tour.


The evening began with a burst of musical prowess from virtuoso bassist Karina Rykman and her super tight power trio.

Fresh off her recent appearance with Late Night with Seth Meyers and his 8G Band, Rykman, accompanied by Adam November on guitar/looper/effects and Chris Corsico on drums, mesmerized the crowd with tracks from her debut release, "Joyride."


The atmosphere crackled with excitement as Rykman's performance set the stage for an unforgettable night ahead.


As the clock struck 9:30 PM, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong took to the stage, unleashing two exhilarating sets of music split by a brief intermission. From the infectious grooves of "Funk E Zekiel" to the soulful rendition of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' classic "Can't Stop," the band captivated the audience with their trademark blend of improvisation and tight musicianship.


The second set showcased the band's versatility, featuring eclectic covers like Radiohead's "Karma Police" alongside original compositions such as "Poseidon" and "Upfunk." Each song was a sonic journey, weaving through intricate melodies and infectious rhythms that kept fans on their feet and dancing late into the night.

As the clock approached midnight, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong treated the audience to an encore performance of "Skipjack," leaving the crowd clamoring for more. With their seamless blend of funk, rock, and psychedelic influences, the band left an indelible mark on the Sherman Theater stage, cementing their reputation as a live tour de force.


Renowned for their electrifying performances, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong has garnered a dedicated following and amassed tens of millions of streams. From iconic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre to major music festivals including Bonnaroo and Electric Forest, the band has consistently delivered memorable experiences for fans across the country.

With their seventh full-length release, "Day In Time," set to hit stores on April 26, 2024, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is poised to elevate their musical journey to new heights.


Following their performance at the Sherman Theater, the band is set to continue their Winter Tour through the end of February when they play the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA.


As the echoes of their performance lingered in the air, it was clear that Pigeons Playing Ping Pong had once again delivered an unforgettable night of music and camaraderie, leaving their flock eagerly anticipating their next sonic adventure.
