David Lee Roth, the charismatic frontman of Van Halen, made a highly anticipated return to the stage on May 3, 2025, at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Maryland. This marked his first full live performance in five years, captivating fans with a 16-song setlist exclusively featuring classic Van Halen tracks. The lineup included fan favorites such as "Panama," "Jump," "Runnin' with the Devil," and a cover of The Kinks' "You Really Got Me," famously covered by Van Halen on their debut album.
Roth's performance was met with widespread acclaim from both fans and fellow musicians. KISS frontman Paul Stanley took to social media to express his enthusiasm, stating, "I watched Diamond Dave’s return at M3 Festival and LOVED IT! Looks Great. Great staging. Great band. Great vibe. The whole thing was cool. Back-up posse too. Check it all out on YouTube. Welcome Back Dave!!"
The M3 Rock Festival also featured a partial reunion of Ratt, with original members Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini performing classic hits. The event was a celebration of '80s rock, drawing fans from across the country to Merriweather Post Pavilion.
Following his successful return, Roth announced a 21-date U.S. tour for the summer of 2025, dubbed the "Roth Show Tour." The tour will kick off on July 31 in Hollywood, Florida, and includes a stop at the Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on August 17. Tickets for the tour will go on presale on May 6 at 10 a.m. local time, with general sales starting on May 9 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.
